Privacy Policy

Overview

Tera is a shopping app that helps you track products, follow brands, and get notified about sales and restocks. We built this to be simple and useful — and we apply the same thinking to how we handle your data.

We collect only what we need to make the app work. We don't sell your data. Here's exactly what we do and don't do.

What we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your name and email address (via email, Apple, or Google sign-in)
• The brands you follow
• The products you save to your wishlist
• Your notification preferences

This information is stored securely in Firebase (Google Cloud) and is used only to power your Tera experience.

Browser & Safari Extension

The Tera browser extension only collects data when you actively click the Tera button on a product page. It does not run in the background, track your browsing history, or collect any data passively.

When you click the button, we collect:

• The URL of the product page
• Basic product information visible on the page (name, price, image)

We may also use Zyte as a service provider to help retrieve or structure product-page information needed to save an item and support price tracking. Nothing is collected unless you initiate it.

Brand notifications

Tera subscribes to brand email lists on behalf of the app to surface sale and restock alerts. This is an internal process — we receive and process brand emails to deliver relevant notifications to users who follow those brands. We do not share your personal information with brands.

What we don't do

• Sell or rent your personal data to third parties
• Use your data for advertising outside of Tera
• Track your browsing passively via the extension
• Share your wishlist or preferences with brands you follow

Data retention & deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the app settings. When you do, your personal data — including your wishlist, brand follows, and preferences — is permanently deleted from our systems.

Third-party services

Tera uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication and data storage
• Expo — app infrastructure and push notifications
• Zyte — product page data retrieval and extraction
• Zapier — email processing pipeline

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

Children's privacy

Tera is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we'll delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. If we make material changes, we'll notify you via the app or email. Continued use of Tera after changes means you accept the updated policy.
